From Tarbert it’s just over 20 miles to Black Sheep House. Heading into South Harris towards Leverburgh the road quickly becomes single track with passing places and that’s how it stays for the majority of the way, so no need to hurry!
The first part of the journey climbs over rock strewn hills , looking down over lochs and back across the Minch to Skye. After a few miles the road descends and the view opens to take in the immense sands of Luskentyre and Seilabost, also the Island of Taransay lies directly in front of you.
After crossing the causeway you follow the coast, passing numerous beautiful beaches before running along side Northton Sands and finally coming to the village of Leverburgh.
